Manhattan: In response to his conviction in state court in New York on felony charges concerning hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels and a related gag order until after the November 5 election, Donald Trump will be sentenced. The US Supreme Court has rejected to stay this action until after the election.
The ruling by the court was prompted by a lawsuit filed by the state of Missouri, according to Reuters, alleging that the case against Trump violated voters’ constitutional right to hear from the Republican presidential nominee as he runs for office again.
On September 18, in Manhattan, Trump is scheduled to get his punishment. His guilty verdict on all 34 charges of fabricating business documents in a criminal hush-money conspiracy to sway the 2016 election came in May.
In November, he will run against Democratic contender Kamala Harris as the nominee of the Republican party for president.
